This is a nice bait for beginners although many of the experienced fishermen also use it. Ingredients : 2 Cups of Maize meal 1 Cup of cake flour (not self raising flour) 1 Cup of white sugar 3 Cups of water Pinch of salt Method : Dissolve the salt and sugar into the water. (Hot water works better) Mix the dry ingredients . If you want to you can add some turmeric, curry or custard powder at this stage. Stir the dry ingredients into the water until smooth. Cook in the microwave on high for 3 minutes. Take out and stir at one minute intervals. Take the bait out and put under a damp cloth to cool down. Knead the dough in your hands until you have a nice stiff dough which will not fall of the hooks when you cast it into the water. You can use any of the dips with this bait. Sweet Dough Recipe : Dissolve 3 desert spoons sugar into half a cup of sugar. Cook the water for one minute in a microwave oven. Stir cake flour into the water until you have a stiff dough. Knead the dough and put onto the hooks. Put on some dip if you want to. A very effective method is to roll the dough in a tiny worm shape and put it onto the hook so that it take on the shape of the hook. Dip it and cast it into the water. Tip : If you have these two baits, a brown bread, mealie pips and earthworms your chances are excellent to catch a few carp. You can use any dips with these bait. TCP is working well in most of the fishing waters. |
